I am about to turn in my lease vehicle, and while cleaning it up I noticed a dent and scratch on the passenger-side headlight. It looks like someone hit it, maybe in a parking lot, and didn't leave their info. I don't know what the dealership will charge for the damage, so I am contemplating reporting it to my insurance carrier. If I do so, would my deductible be waived?

The deductible is what you pay before the insurance coverage will kick in. I can't see an insurance company ever waiving it since it would mean that they pay even more.
Go and get several quotes from auto body shops. If it's just a small dent + scratch, shouldn't cost much. Repairing at the dealership would be more expensive than at an auto body shop (and they will likely charge you for it.) Find out what the dealer would charge you when you return it in that condition and then ask your insurance company if they can tell you if your premium would increase after filing a claim like this.

your insurance should cover it
it happens all the time
youd have to double check your benefits and see whats available
they might take a deductible out but in the long run if it costs your more to have them take care of it, just don't report it and you can fidn the part online and do it your self |

you shouldnt have to considering the accident wasnt your fault.
they should pay for your car to get fixed. if they dont have insurance then hunt them down and take your money. if they do then their insurance company should contact you. |

you are responsible for your vehicle. if someone hit it and damaged it then you need to make a claim with you insurance company, but it has nothing to do with the damage when you turn your car in. you have to pay for that no matter what, that's the deal you made |

I believe so. So the Ins. will pay the rest to fix it. Either that or the other person's Ins. will cover the damage. |
