No, one of the first things the CA DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) will ask is if you have your license suspended in another state. I'm sure it's the same thing in all other states too.

uh-duh suspended means suspended no matter what state you go to. that's the beauty of interpol you can't rape the government and I am sure if it was suspended it was for a good reason and you don't deserve and alternate lic. besides I'll dob ya to the cops!!!

You will have to become a resident of California first, then if state law allows it then yes. They will check with Oregon though on the other hand. It depends on why it was suspended.

Nope. Trying to get a driver's license in one state while suspended in another constitutes fraud. You have to report your previous license to the new state and they retrieve your driving record as part of the application process.

Fortunately for you, it can take a few weeks for the records to be transfered, so you'll have a few "licensed" weeks before the California cops arrest your for fraud. If you're foolish enough to claim to have not had a license before, it could take a couple of months before the routine checks come back to bite you.

Deal with your suspended license before trying to get a new one. If you don't, you'll go to jail and have to pay some hefty fines. If you cause an accident while driving under the fraudulent license the fines and penalties are tippled or quadrupled in many states. In Indiana driving with a fraudulent license is WORSE than driving unlicensed. Back in th late 90's a guy hit the papers for killing a kid in a crosswalk. He WAS going to be charged with involuntary manslaughter until it came out that he had "obtained a license under false pretenses." Instead of the year in jail and 5 years probation that was originally discussed he ended up getting 20 years. He could be out in as little as 10 with good behavior.

My answer would be yes, maybe, I would check with the Road Traffic Authorities in California though, not on the Y!A.
