Homeowners.
The owner of the personal property would file against their homeowners.
So...if you and your friend go to dinner. Your friend leaves her purse in your locked car while you eat. You leave your Ipod. Her purse and your Ipod are stolen. Although the purse was stolen from your car.....she files against her homeowners. And you file against your homeowners for your Ipod.
Here's a very general rule of thumb.....if you took the car - turned it upside down and shook it - if it falls out it's a homeowners claim. So the cd player installed in the dash of the car....would not fall out....auto policy. The Ipod that is just plugged in...falls out...homeowners. Mink coat ....falls out...homeowners. |

In most states, if the vehicle is parked within the confines of ones property lines, it can be covered by home insurance. As usual, it depends on the details of the insurance contract. |

If it is part of the car, it is usually covered by car insurance (car cd player, tape deck, etc). Other stuff, like an iPod, cds, golf clubs, etc, that are not part of the car would be homeowners/personal property insurance. |

Depends on the car policy. some policies cover personal possessions, others don't. But household policy may cover you, again, read the policies to find out! |
