If someone hits me and runs, am i covered?

If you do not have underinsures or uninsured drivers' insurance you are out of luck. Are you sure you don't have it? If not you are not going to get compensated by anyone unless you can some how identify the person who hit you.

It depends if your state has no-fault insurance, but since you only have liability coverage I doubt that you're covered anyway.

The correct answer is no. Liability coverage only covers damage you might do to others. If you could find out the information and location of the hit-and-run driver and could find witnesses to back up your claim, you can sue the other driver both civilly and criminally. However, that's the only way you'll ever get anything out of this. You have no other recourse except to pay for your own damages. I'd consider getting at least some minimal collision and/or comprehensive coverage, which would have saved you in this situation had you been covered. Too late for this situation though. Good Luck

no, you chose not to carry any physical damage coverage for your car, so there's nothing that your policy can do
if the police find the other driver then you can file against their coverage, if they have any...if they dont have coverage you can file suit for your repairs AND contrary to what others have posted here, uninsured motorist coverage does not cover your car, it only covers your bodily injury and that of your passengers

Yes! Not sure if it's your own collision or uninsured motorist but you definitely have something available to you. Call your insurance company or contact your state insurance department for clarification.

Check your policy. If you have coverage for uninsured motorists, or collision, yes. If all you have is liability, as you said, then no. Liability covers YOUR accidents when you have damaged someone else's property. What you said when you chose liability only is "I'm betting no one will steal my car, it won't catch fire, I'll never run into a tree, and if I do, the car isn't worth spending any money on other coverage, I will just pay the loss out of my pocket." You lost that bet.

I don't know what state you live in,which makes a difference for the answer to this question. Depending on your state, you could make an uninsured motorist claim if it's not your fault and that coverage extends. Each state is different with regard to how it works and if you'd be covered under certain situations. If it's not there, not applicable, etc. then liability only won't do you any good and you're on your own.
