My car got stolen and USAA asked me to get receipts for my rims and my tv . But someone i met said she had her car stolen and they will NOT cover any of the extra stuff unless i called and put my rims and my tv ect .. on my insurance. Does anyone know the facts on this??
Im thinking that they are going to pay, why have me search for reciepts if they are going to say "sorry mam you didn't have those items insured"

They might pay something. But nothing close to what you paid for them new.There going to hit you with depreciation value for used items. |

Not unless you added a policy rider (at extra expense) to cover these things. You're out of luck. |

Only if you have reported the changes and added them to your policy. That is generally how insurance handles an auto theft. |

USAA is a preimum company and will not likely deny coverage on added items. However, you will NOT be reinbursed dollar for dollar for the extras. If your car isn't recovered then you will most likely not be paid much extra for the so called 'improvements' you made to the vehicle. Customizing actually narrows the market appeal for an automobile, therefore it is technically worth LESS than a stock unit. The best way to tell what's covered is simply to read your policy. |

Call USAA and ask them, they are a reputable military based company and should have no problem telling you if they are or aren't covered. A lot of times this is dependent on your specific policy, I have USAA but none of this applies to me so I couldn't tell you.
