Yes. Repercussions could be drivers license revocation, reinstatement fee, new d/l fee, retest and of course there are civil penalties, fines and court fees if you wish to contest the ticket and you lose. |

Yes, if you are driving you will be held responsible because you aren't supposed to drive a vehicle with no insurance. Shame on you if you didn't check beforehand. |

yes you can. it is your responsibility to know if the car You are driving has insurance on it or not. Depending on the state if you show that the car now has insurance your case might be dismissed, or you might have to pay a menial fine (up to $100)
if you or the owner do nothing to remedy the situation you can face a hefty fine.

You must ensure that any car you intend to drive is insured, even if it is not your car. So you can be held responsible as well as the person who gave permission for you to drive their uninsured car. Ignoramce of the law is no excuse. |

Yes. The DRIVER, not the OWNER, is the person responsible for driving an uninsured car. Even if you didn't know it's not insured.
What happens, depends. At best, it's a fine and a ticket. At worst, it's a license suspension and an SR22 filing, a lot of money, and jail time if you've done it before. |

as a driver you are responsible for making sure that you are insured before you drive. If that means asking the owner of the car for proof of insurance then that's what you need to do. Some insurance companies provide "umbrella" coverage, which means your own insurance will cover you on cars that you drive that are not yours if they don't have their own insurance. (check with your insurance company about this)
so yes you are responsible. You could get a ticket (amount can vary by state or province). You could also get your license suspended if you have other infractions and your car could get towed because your not driving legally. In which case, your stuck on the side of the road having to explain to the owner that their car got towed. |
