love watching Most Shocking Pursuits on TruTV and I always wonder about the police chases... what if I used my vehicle to ram the fleeing felon... would an insurance company cover it? would the city/police department pay for my car?
please don't answer by telling me to call my insurance... if i wanted to be boring, i would have called them already.

Yes, trying to stop the felon does not exclude you from liabilty issues. If you ram another vehicle get ready to be liable.
P.s. most police try to pit the car while chasing it. they do this by hitting the rear corner or the the rear bumper causing the car to spin out. But the city covers the liablity. |

you're sure to get interesting answers from this.
This as you know, is not a smart idea to do. But from an insurance standpoint it could be an intenetional act and may not be covered by the insurance company. Also in some states the idiot fleeing, I mean the criminal, could possibly come back to you for the damages, or even the owner of the other vehicle if this was not theirs. I've seen this happen before.
MUCH, MUCH, MUCH investigation would be involved in this.
