Hi,
About a four years ago i did the same but i had a thatham approved one fitted, i then advised the insurer, i got about £9 back that year with 9 month to go, but the following year, i got (what they advised) 5% off for having it, but they said i had to have the certificate if i made a claim.
So its worth telling them, it wont put the cost up...

the answer to your question is yes and no what i mean is alot of things are taken into consideration such as were the vehicle is parked over night is it alarmed and how old it is and what post code you live at ......and many more things so the immobiliser is only a small part of your premium if you ring your insurance company up and add the immobiliser on then i garantee they will say thanks but IT DOESNT AFFECT THE PREMIUM this is standard procedure in most companys..........but............had you said from the start when you gave all your details then you were probly looking at paying between 3 to 10 pounds less so theres your answer its probly not worth ringing.
HOWEVER BEAWARE .......telling your insurance company you do have an immobiliser when you dont just to save 10 pounds leaves you open to not getting a pay out so dont risk it. |

You MAY get a small refund on your current insurance, But your next renewal should be cheaper, just state if it is factory fitted from new - no certificate required , or after market - certificate required.Even better if it also has an alarm |

You would pay less insurance if you had an immobiliser, so I don't really understand your question. If you have lied in any form, it will invalidate your insurance. |
