Are you working for a company that requires you to drive for them? If so their insurance should automatically cover you - Any driver driving with the owners consent. But if you are looking to insure a vehicle soley in your name, you better win the lottery first. You could try sitting the advanced driving test, which I think you have to take within a year of passing your original driving test. ( cant think of the name of it off hand, ask a driving instructor) But quite a few insurance companies will give you a huge discount for having this extra certificate. |

Yes you can get insured for any vehicle under 3.5 tonnes .
If you want to drive larger van`s then you need to re sit your test again for the different class ! |

This depends on the insurer, and whether its a policy you will hold yourself or whether you are going to driver for a company. Most companies will not employ drivers under the age of 21 as the insurer will not take the risk, just a case of looking around and seeing what you can find, if its your vehicle then try confused.com, they are pretty good! |

Fraid not. You have to be at least 21 to be included on Commercial Insurance, or have been driving for 3 years with a completely clean licence.
My Dad works with a 25 year old, and Insurance Company will NOT accept the 25 year old to drive the company vans that tow trailers until he has had a clean licence for 3 years. |

It depends on the company insurance policy.
I had my commercial insurance policy at 16.
And actually when I bought a new truck it was cheaper insuring it on my commercial policy than a personal policy. $3000 annually or $1200....
Commerical policies are rated knowing that there will be a wide variety of drivers, so it is more expensive for low risk drivers than a personal policy, but cheaper for high risk drivers (such as males under 25). |

Don't know for certain, but I would check with different Insurance companies and as. I would imagine your rate will be very very high at your age. |

Depending upon where you live, you might find that the insurance companies have a minimum age of 25 for commercial vehicle insurance. If they don't, then it is going to be very expensive since you are a new driver with no record. It might be worth your while to get on as a driver with someone who has several vans and drive for them for a while in order to establish your own record. If you are only talking a utility van or small truck (under 5 t) then you probably won't need a CDL (commercial driver's licence).
