Im 20 years old, clean driving licence,will i be able to get insured on my dads range rover sport (4.2 litre)?

my dad has a range rover sport, 55 plate, 4.2 litre engine, i was wondering whether or not i would be able to get insured on it - as a named driver (not insured as owner of car)?
im 20 years old, had my licence for about 2 & a half years, clean i.e. no accidents. i know to be insured would be really expensive, but i was just wondering whether it was actually possible. if it isnt, is there any alternative getting insured whatever the price. if so could someone tell me the type of companies that would allow me to be insured. thanks.

You will get insurance, but it will be expensive as the car is group 20 insurance category.

Im 28 and no points and i had enough trouble getting insurance for my X5, i had to get my partner as main driver and me named and its my car! You will find a company but it will probably cost you thousands.

as someone under 25, even getting added for a more power vehicle, could cost you, or your dad an a fortune.

might be cheaper to find a small, older car, with a low power engine. ask about

you can be insured, but expect the rate to be almost double what mum pays now.

Try confused .com but as the insurance is in your fathers name it will him that will need to do it unless you can answer the various questions .,Or ask existing insurance co.your best bet is to lower yourself to drive a cheaper car like the rest of us plebs

If you are still living in the household, most insurance companies will write this type of business. If he has an insurance policy on it, I would take with his insurance company or agent and see if you can be added to his policy. If you do not live in the house hold, I recommend talking with an Independant Agent that can write policies with multiple companies. The agent will be able to direct you to the best company.

Go to Aquote, there is usually 2 companies on there that will insure you for anything - I've tried getting insured on a subaru impreza STI version with all the turbos and everything and me being 19 with a clean license, not many people would consider it, but 2 companies on Aquote will insure you - Will cost a fortune but they will do it - Can't remember the name of the company's names now, but YES IT IS POSSIBLE

Yes you can be insured as a named driver but your personal excess will be higher than the other drivers. For example if the usual excess is Â£100 then yours could be Â£500.
