i no i have to have someone in the passenger seat to learn me but can i have my 8 month old nephew in the back of the car with his mum? or is it illegal?

As long as the other person sits in front with you and has held a full licence for 3 years and is over 21, then you can. Make sure baby is in a secure baby seat though.

It is legal, but not sensible. When you are learning all your concentration needs to be on your driving. If you're distracted by passengers somebody is likely to get hurt. |

If you are getting a friend or parent to teach you they have to be over the age of 21 and have been driving for 3 years , you also have to have insurance on thier car. And i would not suggest them in the back of the car for thier sake and for your learning you want to do your best with no distractions.
If you are getting an instructor to teach you who you pay so much an hour then you cannot have your nephew and his mum in the back seat.

If the person in the passenger seat is over 21 and has held a full licence for a least 3 years, it is legal. However, why anyone would risk an 8 month old child in a car with a learner driver is quite beyond me. |

you can cary passengers,yes...as long as the front seat passenger has past there test for 3 years and are over 21. |

They must have a Full, Current licence for the relevant group and must have held it for at least 3 years
Anybody else is immaterial as long as they are properly belted.
