Hell!!! Dont do it as you'll be divorced, even if you're not married you'll be divorced!! Stick with the driving school. |

Ferrarri Testerosa would be a good car for you. |

The same car as you are taking lessons in from the driving school would be a good choice, that way all the controls will be in the same place and the driving technique will be similar. Your partner should not try to teach you to drive but should be with you ready to act in an emergency. |

not a corsa, punto or similar as they are classed as 'boy racer' cars, my other half pays £400 less on a 1.6 honda civic than he did on a 1.2 corsa!
stick to engine size below 1.4, dont forget cat 1 alarms can lower insurance price as well |

you need to get a car with as low insurance group as poss, pref group one or two, look on http://the-car-club.co.uk/Insurance-Groups-What-Insurance-Group-Is-Your-Car-109.html and you can select a make and model to see what groups they fall in, go for something which is mainstream like ford or vauxhall and with a small engine, or something like a daewoo, kia, hyundai or suzuki, I wouldn't as they are not my taste but they can be cheap. |

Depending on your age? ... a 1 or 1.1 litre engine would be ideal for under 25's i have a 1.1 peugeot 206 and i love it :), a little ford or something would be ideal also. xx |

Ford ka is very nice to drive and cheap to run. Be aware that partners don't always make good instructors so he must be really patient |

I agree with the other comment, stick to driving school - if you don't listen to your husband and his commanding driving school ways, you are going to create some massive relationship problems.
Get a car after you get a licence. Though it may cause you problems to say that, letting him teach you how to drive is going to cause massive problems. |

you do not need a car at all, use the one you have, if it is not over group 15 and not worth more than 20k you can insure it, and it costs £82.50 per month, and then £62.50 for further months, the second you pass the test, the insurance ends, the insurance is your very own policy and it will not effect your partners insurance should you have a bump.
ask your instructor to contact collingwood insurance about YOUNG DRIVER POLICY, and he can get it for you, you are not able to get it without your instructor so ask him to contact them for you, any probs contact me, all the best. |
