Oh! Cool, which DMV? (Mine was in North Salem)
With any DMV in Oregon, the test is simple. The test official will come out and inspect your vehicle. Then, once it's okayed, you go. (They ask that you keep your front seat clean. No drinks in the cupholders, clean out everything in the front and take down any decorations on the rearview and the dashboard. Keep the radio off, and turn off your phone.
You're going to go on a loop. You're gonna (In no paticular order) turn off the main road, stop at an intersection, pull over (not parallel park), rejoin traffic, change lanes, and (depending where you go) try driving on one-way streets. Then you go back to the DMV and park in a parking space. That's it!
Keep in mind, though: They will fail you if:
You take a wrong turn or fail to do what an instructor says
You bump into anything (this includes the curb)
You fail to stop at a light or stop sign
You get less than a 75%
You get any kind of traffic citation and /or pulled over.
You excessively speed
You will get points taken off if:
You stop in a crosswalk
You Fail to signal before turning or changing lanes
You Fail look over your shoulder or in your mirrors before changing lanes
You speed
Fail to look at road (and check your mirrors every 8-10 seconds)
You Cut a corner
Other than that, it's pretty easy. Some instructors are mean, though, and some will try to trick you (Mine spoke Spanish once while giving directions by accident), but most a nice. Good Luck! |

I took my test in NJ. To be honest, it was a joke, and I hope everyone's test is harder, not to make it harder for them, but for the safety of the general public on the roads. Sorry, needed to get that out of my system.
Just try to relax. If you fail, no biggie, you will take it again. My step-brother was so nervous about Parallel parking, it affected him during the rest of the test. He blew through a stop sign, and slammed on his brakes when he realized. Basically, he failed, lol. But, the second time around, he passed with ease. The basis of this story is that he was so nervous going in, his concentration wasn't there. He thought it as an isult to fail the test the first time. But as he found out, it was no big deal to take it a second time.
The basis of this answer is, don't sweat it. You will do fine. If something happens, and you don't pass, look at it as practice for the next time. I'm sure you will do fine. Just listen to what your test examiner says.
Good Luck! |

I,m 52 but I remember it as if was yesterday I could not sleep the night before so I was tired we got into the car I adjusted the mirrors (which is very important since its a slim chance your the same height as the instructor ) you will get early points there, also look in the side mirror and check over the shoulder before leaving curve. On my test he told me to make a left and I went straight ,I thought I failed right their so I actually relaxed right there and told myself I was going to have to take it over again so from their on I just drove the car and didn't car I was shocked when I received the letter that I passed ALRIGHT here it is in a nut shell The instructor knows you have no experience he or she is not looking for that They just want to make sure you know the rules of the road and can maintain control of the car Relax look at the first test as a dry run and you will probably pass.REMEMBER TO STOP COMPLETELY BEFORE THE STOP SIGN |

You need to know how to drive and don't knock over any cones. Be very confident. I just got my license 2 weeks ago. |

They test you on basically everything. Ive heard that some people didnt have to parallel park, but I did. The only thing that I missed was when you are at an intersection, and the light turns green look both ways before you go. The instructor told me that when I was making a right turn and the light was green I didnt look both ways (even though people were going straight)... Dont be nervous! Im sure you'll do great! Good luck!! |

I took my test yesterday, I live in LA
I was just as nervous, I started posting up questions on yahoo answers on what I was going to expect
I was so nervous and the test was piece of cake
There probably just gonna tell you to turn left & right
switch lanes and pretty simple stuff
I failed my test because I didnt yield while making a left
I think its because I was so nervous
but just try to drive around before you take the test just to get the feeling going on and I think you will be ok |

I did really good on mine! Make sure that you stop BEFORE the stop signs and not right next to them.. haha.. and make sure that you put your seatbelt on right when you get in the car, adjust your mirrors before you back out, use your blinkers when turning or changing lanes, press on the brake like 50 feet before a stop sign or a light so you don't give the person whiplash! haha.. and start up a small convo with them.. don't let it be so quite that you could hear a pin drop :) don't act or look nervous because it could distract you.. Best of luck!! |

Good Luck. Be yourself. Follow all rules. Put your seat belt on before you start the car. Don't speed, use signals. |
