Somehing to do with lights maybe? I dont know!

So when you see a car like a Porsche Boxster that looks the same whichever way you look at it you can tell which way it's facing!!

Like the old Irishman joke...so you can tell if they are coming or going.

I think its something to do with glare when they are lit up with the car behind. If you are following a car you obviously do not want to be dazzled by the reflection of your lights off his no plate. When travelling towards a person, then the reflection off a white plate acts as a visual marker to on coming vehicles.

Honda
i think it is sumthing to do with the light falling onto the car's plates

It is simple really, it ensures that all drivers can recognise that they are facing the rear or front of a vechicle, which might be important when a vechicle is reversing towards you on either side of the road. The colour simple codes front and rear.

So that if you see a white one in the same lane as you, you know you are in serious trouble.

all lights to the front of a car are white - and so if you see a white light you know to go to the left of it. All lights to the rear are red - so if you see a red light you go to the right of it. Yello number plates are a bit of a compromise.

because the white plate at the front shines white & you are only allowed white lights @ the front of any vechicle
