I Am Turning 17 In April. I Can Drive Really Good, However I Dont Want 2 Have To Hold A Permit For 6 Or 9 Years. I Just Want My License On My 17th Birthday.

Did you ever stop to think oh Intelligent one, there is a reason for having Drivers education, & the learners permit?? You may very well know how to drive , but that does not mean you know all the "RULES OF THE ROAD" I as i am sure the rest of us on the road would feel much better to know you have been properly instructed in how to deal with going into a skid on ice, & how many feet behind us you must drive, & who goes first at a 4 way when 4 cars reach it at the same time, what does yield mean.? what does yellow light mean? what does merging lanes mean, verses merging traffic? I For one believe every young person, should have a learners permit before getting a license & every adult should be tested every 8 years, to make sure they remember what they were taught. We would have less accidents if this was a requirement.* |

Umm. You wouldn't be able to do that...You have to get a license in the state YOU LIVE IN.

no state requires you to hold a permit for 6 or 9 years. once you get a permit, you need it for 6 months if your under 18. you need drivers ed to get the permit, anywhere in the u.s. if your over 18, you just have to take the written test for the permit, and wait 6 months, and take the behind the wheel test for your license. |

in north carolina u only have 2 have a permit for 1 year... then u get ur license after that... idk about other states

Oregon, once you are 16 you are allowed a license without HAVING to take drivers ed. Although taking the drivers ed class does lower your insurance. |
