You are OKAY with not getting the insurance info since you have a police report. Most people are in shock at the scene of an accident and forget a lot of stuff! I've been in an accident and I got all the information except for the other person's phone number and address - go figure!
This will NOT prevent you from having the other insurance company repair your vehicle.
What you need to do (2 options) - is file a claim with your insurance company and provide them with the police report number - and pursue your collision coverage - you will at this point be responsible for your deductible - HOWEVER your insurance company will order the police report and get the other parties insurance information. If necessary, your insurance company will file the claim with the adverse carrier and they will be able to provide you with all the claims information - then you can contact the other carrier and get your deductible back - and if your injured, pursue an injury claim. **This is the fastest way to get your vehicle repaired.
2nd option - get a copy of the police report once it's complete - and it will have the insurance info for the other party - and then file a claim yourself. If the accident though is not as clear cut as a hit while parked or rear end - be warned - it may take a little while for the other carrier to complete their investigation - thus delaying the amount of time it takes to get your vehicle repaired, etc...
Good luck! |

Your insurance company should take care of everything for you. You will probably need a copy of the police report, and then the insurance should handle everyhting from there.
I was in an accident 2 weeks ago, and I did not need anything, just the police report. |

The police report usually includes both parties insurance information. |

The info will be on the accident report that the police have to fill out. Once you get a copy, you can call the guy and get the info or call your own insurance company, and give them the info and let them worry about it. That's what insurance is paid for. good luck. |

You did the RIGHT THING is calling the police. You have no idea how many big problems you prevented. And you don't want to know.
The ins co can get the police report and ins data quite easily.
I hope all works out well and to your satisfaction. |

The cops will have it on hand. Your insurance company will probably help you too, especially if the accident was the other driver's fault. |

If the cops took your info, they did an accident report. You need to go to the police station and get a copy of the accident report. The insurance information will be on it. You then submit the accident report to your insurance company to start your claim. |

Call the police station that sent the officers, and ask for a copy of the accident report - it'll have all the info you need. You might have to wait a few days for the report to be finished, though.
Good luck! |
