Homeroom is usually right before first period or at the end of first period. They do morning messages and attendance. They only have it for middle and high school. 6-12 grade. |

A Homeroom is a the first period of the day in most middle, secondary, and some elementary schools. During this time teachers will take attendance, lunch orders, or other duties.
Morning announcements from the principal and the pledge are often said during this time.

A homeroom is where you spend much of your time, its mostly in 4th & 5th grade, they are getting you ready for middle school where you have a class room for every course. |

homeroom also occurs in high school... in my school it was whatever your 3rd period class was. that way you had time to get to school and whatnot.
middle schools are making homerooms more, for a lack of a better word, worthwhile. its like a non-credit class to talk about the day's events, current events, get homework help, or whatever. think of it like group therapy for 40 minutes of your day.
then again, ive only heard ofthis at newer progressive schools. thecrappy failingschools could use this but of course wont get to experience it. |
