Information on an SR22 I bought in 1983?

Where can I find info on an SR22 I bought in 1983?? Its been a long time I don't know if the insurance company still exists. I need help to find out about this problem or my license will be suspended for 2 or 3 years. Thanks.

I don't know of any way you can locate a copy of a 25 year old SR22 filing. Unless you can furnish a number, neither the insurance company or the state could locate it even if they had records back that far. You might try putting the company's name in your search engine. You might be surprised that they are still around. It would be interesting to find out how a 25 year old SR22 filing would impact anything today

I fail to understand how confirmation of liability coverage from 1983 is necessary to retain a licence in 2009. Please explain, but this makes no sense.
If you had to have an SR-22 filing, and didn't, you would have been suspended in 1983.
