Hope that caught your attention. Here is the story. Last night we had up to 95 mph winds near my home in Pittsburgh. At 8 pm. at night the police knocked at my door asking if I owned a trampoline for one was blown across the street and into my neighbors yard. At first I thought that there was no way that it could have been my kids trampoline for it weighs near 200 pounds and was grounded in my backyard. Sure enough after checking it was. Somehow the trampoline blew like a sail thru my back yard, between mine and my neighbors homes, over my car, across the street and into my neighbor across the streets yard. Well, the trampoline is destroyed, my 2 little ones are extremely sad, and my car is damaged from the trampoline smacking against it. The police were gracious and helped me move the trampoline back to my yard and tie it down. They also took a report of the damage to my kids trampoline and my car. Luckily no one was injured and nothing else was damaged that I know of. So, after this long detailed paragraph I need to ask....Can I get money to replace my kids trampoline and repair the body work on my car with turning this information over to my Homeowners insurance?..or will they just laugh at me and now I am out a $500 2 month old trampoline and an estimated $600-800 damages to my car!..ifI didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all!!!

common occurance take it as money saved via hospital bills first get a cage SAFETY NET for bouncers then anchor the new trampoline,,,, let the car mellow itll be hit in the next hail storm,,, grand kids 2 years no accidents bouncing then 14,000.. ,, generly not worth it after deductables taken |

Depends on your company. Some insurance places wont insure people who even have trampolines. A claim could be denied and your policy canceled. BUT if your insurance company does allow trampolines then it would have to be listed on your policy I think for the trampoline to be fixed or replaced. For your car to be fixed you would have to file an auto claim though, not through your homeowners. No one can tell you how the claim will end or what will happen you just have to call and talk to your insurance provider |

The trampoline can be claimed on your Homeowner's (or Tenant's if you're renting the house) Insurance, however I SERIOUSLY doubt the damage to the trampoline is over your deductible. Even if it was it wouldn't be over enough to make filing a claim worth it.
Your vehicle damages would be paid under your vehicle's Comprehensive coverage, and would be subject to the deductible for that coverage. |

You are SOL on the trampoline. It is not worth claiming on your homeowners (usually have a 500-1000 deductible).
The car would be covered under comprehensive if you have it in your insurance policy. It is the part of the insurance policy that covers a tree branch falling on your car.
