a car ran a stop sign and hit me i have 9000 worth of car damage 1200.00 dollars worth of doctors bill and they have been paying for my rental car.. Insurance company offered me a check for 1500.00 that i must pay my doctors bill from so technically only get 300.00 dollars for pain and suffering.

What does the $1200 represent? ER only? Did you go to your PCP? If so, how many office visits and over what period of time. If you only had a couple of doctor's visits and no actual treatment over a course of 1-2 weeks, then yes, the $300 if fair.
Contact the adjuster and have him/her explain the potential settlement offer. |

Sounds reasonable to me. In the grand scheme of things, $1200 in medical bills is a minimal amount. That could be a brief ER visit, but It's up to you whether you accept the offer or not. |

its completely up to you if your take the offer or not. contact the adjuster handling the claim and let him know his offer is enough to cover your med bills but what about your car damages and time out of work? if they are willing to pay your med bills, then they need to pay the rest. make sure the offer isn't ONLY for the medical. many companies have one adjuster who handles the bodily injury claim and a different one will handle the property damage claim. as for pain and suffering, yep thats about right. you will NEVER get big money for pain and suffering. |

Not ridiculous at all. They don't have to offer you anything for pain and suffering, which is a slippery term at best. You can, of course, refuse their settlement. They might offer more, then again they might withdraw their offer to settle which would put you in the situation of having to start it all over again.
Honestly, your best source of information will be your own insurance agent, who would be able to answer your questions.
Added: after reading the previous replies, you really DON'T want to add an attorney to the mix now, unless of course you want to slow things down, and give around a third of what you do eventually get to an attorney. |

they are not your insurance company but the at faults insurance company. They are only trying to have you except it.
Send the check back to them along with a letter stating that they have insulted you with there ridiculous offer.
And you will now seek council for there effort of insulting you.
Watch that offer go up with another zero. |

Time for a lawyer. Whenever injuries are involved the insurance company will try to buy you off for as little as possible. The lawyer only collects if you do. Don't sign a thing until after you talk to the lawyer. |
