Auto insurance pays the expenses for injuries in an auto accident, many health plans will have restrictions or limits for certain acitivities, including auto accidents. You really have to check your medical plan. |

In my state( NH) if you have full coverage it includes medical coverage. You don't have the option to have it or not. |

The medical coverage on an automobile policy works the same way as Health insurance.
Anyone in your vehicle, including yourself will have the amount of coverage listed on your policy in their "back pocket" in the event of an at-fault or non-at-fault accident.
If you are insured with Health insurance, you could decline this coverage. |

It depends on the state.
In some states, like NY and NJ, first party medical coverage is mandatory.
In other states, like CT, it is not.
If it is not mandatory in your state, you are not required to have medical coverage, but I would recommend it anyway, even if its, $1000 or $5000. This will cover any emergency room bills or a doctor follow-up in case you are in an accident, and you don't have a co-pay with it. |

Your full medical insurance may not cover all of your expenses when a passenger in your vehicle is injured. Talk to your agent but a minimum of $50K auto policy medical coverage is recommended for most drivers.

Yes. Medical payments can be used towards your detuctible. Also, your passengers may not have health insurance - you would be liable for their injuries. And some health insurance companies stay far away from anything that has to do with auto accidents. |

It really depends on what your medical covers, and if they will refuse to pay if you were injured in an accident. Sometimes that happens, so it doesn't hurt to carry first party medical on your auto policy. |
