Not normally. I thought that as well, and there is a list of cars the insurance companies have as higher risk, some 2 door, some 4. Like preludes are considered more of a racing car than a normal civic.
I had a 2 door civic hatchback, and the insurance was the same as my 4 door civic. And less than the buick I was driving. |

typically a 2 door will have higher insurance. the IIHS figures that 2 door cars even of the same model, like the civic, are 2-5x more likely to be involved in an accident. it's mostly due to the type of driver, but it does affect insurance rates because insurance is sold on a statistical risk analysis. |
