For example, is it ok to have license plates on your car that have the name of the dealership instead of the standard actual numbers & letters? I always thought that it's ok to have plates with the name of the dealership for a certain amount of time (for example, you just got the new car, so obviously tou have to wait until they send you new plates)... but I'm not sure how long this time period is or if it even exists?

No, you always have to have a plate, temporary or dealer

wel most of time dealer don tsen dfplates you either get them before you drive away or you go to dmv and buy them and yes a car lots plates is not a real plate now if its says dealer on plate its good most car lots give you a drive out tag good for 14 days so you can drive to dmv and get tags |

Yes it is legal but yeah it happens with new cars usually. However some cars have a paper with the license plate numbers sticked to their back windows until their license plate is out. anyway, a couple of years back my friend had bought a brand new car. i asked him about the license plate and he told me that the company gave him a month to get his license plate. however, i think there is not a time limit but its best to have them installed ASAP to keep out of trouble. But still there might be a limit. i mean, who knows what comes up on a cop's computer when they type in ur license plate number. |

I dont think its illegal... You should've got one of those papers that tape to your back window. (you know) the temporary registration. Until you get your sticker for your plate. you need time to get the plate |
