The cops have addressed the ticket to you - therefor it's you who must pay it.
It's not illegal to drive someone elses car at all. Often couples share a car that's in one persons name - or on road trips the driving is split. You've got nothing to worry about - Your friend doesn't even have to know about the ticket if you dont want! |

Pay the ticket and let your friend know so you don't mess up anything with their insurance |

Just pay the ticket. It's not like your friend is going to get in trouble. If you used your license, then the ticket is your responsibility and has all of your information (it doesn't matter whose car it's in). Now if you had gotten a ticket from a red light camera or radar then it would fall on your friend's because the ticket would have been based on the license plate and who the car is registered to. But as a friend, you should pay it becuase she was not driving it. If you do not pay the ticket, the your license can get revoked or supsended. If your friend gave you permission, then it's not illegal. The only thing, if you were to get into an accident or something, your friend's insurance may not cover you or she may not have insurance at all so you need to make sure anyone has insurance on their car before you drive it and make sure that others are insured under it. For instance, if you had an accident and got hurt really bad and it had been your fault, if your friend's insurance didn't cover you, then you would have a lot of out of pocket expenses and wouldn't get any money to take care of your medical expenses from the accident. Also, your friend wouldn't even be able to get her car fixed through inusrance, and she would have to pay for the car to get fixed herself which would probably mess up your friendship. |

There's nothing illegal about driving someone else's car with their permission. As long as you have a valid license and insurance its fine.
Just pay the ticket and watch for stop signs in the future. :) |

It's not illegal since you had permission. In some states, insurance is required. Now, depending on your friend's policy, her insurance may not cover you as a driver of her car in the event of some type of accident. At this point, take care of the ticket and tell your friend. Pay attention to those invisible stop signs; they're there for a reason. If you didn't see the stop sign, you probably didn't see the pedestrian. |

Well Im pretty sure that the cop saw the registration and seen that it wasnt registered to you. Just know that the ticket is on you and not the car.. So if you fail to pay it your license could get suspended.. |

you have to pay the ticket anyway. its not illegal to drive another persons car with their permission, but the person driving is always responsible for the ticket. |

If you stole your friends car, yes it is illegal. If your friend gave you the car, you have to go to your local DMV and get everything sorted out saying "This is my car, not his." If your story is true, then you're probably alright and the ticket is just for missing the stop sign. |

Make friends with the DA, and have him or her toss it out. |
