Any car, motorcycle etc. that is parked on the public highway and that includes rear entry's, pavements and grass verges that are under public ownership must be tax, insured, and if required also have an M.O.T. any found without any one or all of these can be clapped, towed and ultimately crushed by the authorities. |

If you have no insurance then you can't get a tax disc and so your car is illegally parked.
If you don't want to drive it then you have to get a SORN application from the DVLA.
Potentially they can just tow away and crush your car for no tax so watch out. |

The actual position is that for the car to be on the highway, parked or in use, it must have insurance and display a valid tax disc. Strangely, by law it must have a valid MoT (if it applies) if it is USED on the road, but not if it is just KEPT on the road.
If you do not wish to tax or insure it, you must take it off the highway (which includes verges and pavements) and record a SORN notification with DVLA |

If it's on the road it must have Insurance, Tax with disk visible and MOT if over 3 years old. Must also not be a danger to other road users and might have to be roadworthy with lights and so on. Get it wrong and could be considered abandoned and crushed |

Its illegal in Scotland so I presume its the same in england - if you don't have insurance your tax and mot are void. |

Yes it's OK to park a car without insurance as long as it's taxed. It's illegal to drive without tax, insurance and a MOT. However you cannot get road tax without insurance and a MOT, if your tax runs out you will need to park it off road and supply the DMV ( department of motor vehicles ) with a SORN ( Statutory off road notification ).
