My son is nearing the end of the 4 years term for 6 penalty points got for exceeding the limit in (middle of the night) motorway roadworks.
Is it possible to ask to get them removed early. He wants to become a paramedic and the penelty points prevent him applying.

Srry mate, the simple response is no, but if you have changed your permanent address sometimes they remove them. a good few years ago i got 3 points for speeding 68 in 60, my fault, but as i moved i had to advise DLVA of my new address, with the points 5 months left to spend in my licence, my DL was returned cleaned! yeee haaa.. been good since i hasten to add...
But either way tell him to stick with it!, those guys and girls are worth their weight in gold... speak to the service and ask for their guidance, as they are spent now.

The dvla will not remove any points early, as its a speeding fine you need to remember that the penalty points are only valid on your license for 3 years but dvla like to keep them on for one more year. |

No, sorry, they will remain on the licence until the four years from the date of conviction.
I would make the application and see if he can still be accepted as the convictions are about to come off. - Sometimes the rules can be bent - or are not as stringent as they appear. |

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may be able to appear the DMV or the court to have adjudication witheld, but it's not likely. |

it is not possible to get them removed before the 4 years is up however u only have to declare for insurance reasons etc. for 3 years :-) |
