Private lessons can be a help but can also be a hindrance. Driving instructors have to qualify and drive to a high standard, a lesson with a friend or family can teach you bad habits and be detrimental to passing your test. |

I just had a driving instructor and i would say that im a pretty good driver.
Having private lessons is a good way to start learning but i wouldn't say they were nessercery |

Yes - you will be fine with an instructor - I would have thought that's the same as a private lesson to be honest with you. |

Of Course you will pass your driving test with just lessons alone. After a period of time with your instructor they will tell you that they think it was time you could get some driving experience with your mum or dad or an experienced driver just to bring you on that much quicker. You will pass your test eventually but it will take a little longer depending on how many lessons a week you are taking. There are many other people like yourself in the same situation so dont dispear you will do it. |

Yes definately. I am a driving instructor and the majority of pupils are unable to have private tuition for various reasons. Just find a good, reliable and fully qualified instructor.....try and have a friend recommend one in your area. Good Luck! |

You have parents that drive right? theres your personal leasons right there. What helps you pass the test is experiance. The more you can drive the easier the driving test is. If your instructor is willing to go out often with you then you should be fine with just an instructor. But remember they do need to get paid. |

I went to driving school. I think you should find someone who can go with you and practice driving outside of the lessons. I don't think I could have done the actual driving part of the lessons if I had not practiced before I went to driving school. Even tho I went to driving school, I still failed the parallel parking part of the driving test, lol. I still don't parallel park to this day unless I can just pull in a space. |

When I was seven-years old my Father had to tour in Vietnam.
To keep me busy I walked towards the back of the Military Base and climbed inside one of those bid Deuce trucks. The keys were still in it.
So I cranked it up and drove it around the compound. I drove Jeeps and Caterpillar construction equipment. Steamrollers, Bull Dozers....ect
I was just seven-years old.
My point is that common sense goes along ways and when you have common sense you can drive without an instructor telling you what to do.
I was burning rubber in a Jeep in 1967. Power was my biggest pet peeve I had. If there's no power in the engine I didn't want to drive it.
You can't make me happy with a Go Cart or anything like that in 1967.
I wanted to do 100 mph in a car. Speed and power was my thrill and to this day, I still have more speeding tickets than any other.
I was never scared. Fear in me was obsolete.
Want to talk about crazy. I set off a live Grenade I found in the range. I pulled the pin and tossed that bad boy. I hear a pop like a fire cracker when I released the handle and threw it. I duck down in a ditch and waited till that grenande exploded. Talk about fun; I was a menace.
I was worse than Child Problem I or II
If a Helicopter had the keys in it, I was going to crank it up and figure it out by just checking to see what everything does.
It's amazing what you think you can't do, but can do when you put your mind to work and that is my philosophical speech today. |

Of course - that's why they're called driving instructors. They teach you everything you need to know. I know lots of people who dont have anyone to take them out in a car for practice and they've all passed their driving test. Just have a bit of faith in yourself. One thing to compensate is that you wont pick up any bad driving habits off anyone else. Good luck. |
