Interesting theory but untrue. Cars have TITLES, not birth certificates. Most States require insurance coverage. |

Well you have to have a note signed by the maternity nurse, mid-wife UAW foreman or mechanic.
Car incurance can be espenzive. |

A cop pulling you over will ask for 3 things. Liscense,registration,and PROOF of insurance. You better have all 3 or you may be walking home while the car gets towed away . |

I have no idea what you're talking about. If you're going to be driving the car, you absolutely have to have insurance. |

I think you are talking about the "title." If you own the car free and clear...not paying the bank for the vehicle, you may drop Comprehensive and Collision coverage. It is illegal to drive a car without liability coverage. Comp and collision are coverages for the car. If you own the car free and clear, is up to you if you want to pay for the damage to your own car if there is an accident. Personally, my car is paid for, but I still have comp and coll on my car. I'd rather come up with $500 rather than thousands if my car is damaged or stolen. |

even though I don't either, I'll say no, you don't have to have insurance, apart from CTP, unless it's under finance. But do you want to risk being uninsured? If you have an accident, and it's your fault, you pay the damages, all of them, unless your insured and you insurance agrees to pay, because there are times when they won't. DUI for example. |
