Yes,they did once on me driving a NY plate which NY DMV suspended the registration for lapse of insurance,pulled me over and got the car towed to the pound.Had to walk home and bring papers to get the car back,minus several hundred dollars tow fee and impound charges.I asked the cop what I did wrong for him to pull me over,he simply said his onboard computer can connect to NY DMV.Also had to appear in court to explain. |

Some places have automatic scanners, but you can be checked in any state or province, because your plate can also be entered into the computer for a random check by an officer. They have always run plates of any car that catches their attention. But the auto-scanning runs plates as fast as the police car passes, or is passed by them, and an alert pops up when it detects stolen cars, and/or expired plates. |

hells yes. IF they are bored they will do whatever they can to try to fulfill their quotes for what they need....I can tell you loads of stories on ridiculous stuff they have done to me or people I know in my life.
