I change my registration to a private plate but don't notify my car insurance company? I have change to Vehicle Registration Document but forgot to updated my insurance.

Your insurance will still be valid as it relates to the same motor vehicle which you insured, but you still need to tell the insurance company of the change. The DVLA will have changed the details over so it will be showing as insured on their system, so the police anpr wont flag up your vehicle as uninsured either. |

If your insurance certificate shows your registration (which most do) the insurance needs to be informed. |

No it won't be as the registration is different between the car and the insurance policy.
It is a 2 minute job to ring the insurance company and have it changed, which you could of done instead of asking this question on here. |

I should imagine it will be! As the insurance company quote the registration mark of the car on the policy they would most likely get out on a technicallity if you were to either have an accident or your car was to be stolen due to the registration numbers of the 'insured' vehicle and your vehicle not matching. |
