Am looking to buy a car but it has 'privacy glass all round' and was wondering what the legal implications are.

in the uk you cant have privacy glass on the windscreen and the front passenger and driver windows cant be tinted more than 30% and as most cars come with a slight tint any extra tinting would make it illegal. |

If you mean privacy glass as in the car has window tints then it all depends. Any tints (regardless of darkness) which are before the B-Pillar are nothing to worry about (the rear of the car including the rear windshield) Anything past the B-pillar (the fron of the car) should not be tinted as they have to let through at least 75% light. There are tints out there that will let that amount of light thru but the tint itself has to be very light. Hope that helps. |

It depends on your state law. I have my vehicle tinted 2.5% on all the windows, and I have my windshield tinted to 35%. I've never been pulled over, all though legal in Arizona is 35%. It just depends on where you live and how lucky you are not to be caught by the police |

ur front to windons r ilegal to have..the back n da backscreen is fine but you cant have any at all at the drive and passanger side. i had some on light smoked but cops pulled me over and said it had to be 70% visible.
but apprantely it was amended by law that u cant have any tints on at the front wats so ever nomater if its 70% visible or not, if da cops wana b a b*****d dey can be :) |
