Is there a way to get your license before the 1 year in florida?

I am 16 years old and I have had my permit for almost 6 months. In Florida, in order to get your license you have to wait 1 full year but I can't do that. I haven't completed any hours yet, but I really need to get my license because I am in College (Dual Enrollment) and I have to get back and forth to my high school for certain graduation requirements. I really need to get my car and my license so I can travel back and forth freely. Any answers?

Yea. get your Legislators to change the law.
The rules are the rules. Teen deaths in some areas are getting out of control, so stricter guidelines are in place when a teen wants their license to try to reduce that. That rule is there for a reason & it's to help you, not hurt you.
And remember this, the license you are wanting is only a privilege, not a right. The state of FL is under NO obligation to give it to you- ever.
There is no law in existence that a person has a "right to drive"- not in the FL Constitution nor in the US Constitution.
With that privilege, is rules & regulations. Violations of those rules & regulations can result in your privileges to be suspended or revoked, wither temporarily or permanently. |
