I want to buy a new car, but I am worried about a huge registration fee. So I have been considering buying used instead. Is there any way that I can find out a car's estimated registration fee??

Go to the local DMV website, and search for registration. You should find the information on how much it will cost. It is usually a flat fee no matter what the type of vehicle, as long as it falls into a passenger category. (Class D License) |

In some states you either pay an annual tag fee or a personal property tax based on the NADA value of the car. In those states the registration fee/property tax can be $500 or more per year, every year. Oklahoma and Missouri are two. The sales tax and new car fees in those states are just the tip of the iceberg. At any rate go to your states DMV website which will have a schedule of fees. |

Hi there, you should be able to call the motor vehicle division and they should be able to tell you. I have bought used and new and the registration is not that bad. They usually include in the vehicle payment. When you go to buy a vehicle always remember that you do not have to a down payment and even though they push and push you, you still do not need to put a down payment. A down payment is usually just commission that the deal makes. They make it look like they are helping you out but usually they are always just trying to make that money. If you have good credit you can work with alot, but if you have bad credit it may be a little harder. Anyways, either way you dont have to put a down payment and you dont settle for the first or third offer, keep pushing to you get what you want or when the main man goes in than that is the best you can do. So good luck. Oh and they mess with you so you have to mess with them... |
