Is there anything you can do to help pass your driving test or is it down to what happens that day?

Totally down to what happens on the day.
Busy roundabout you fail for undue hesitation.
Instructors takes a dislike to you its a fail.
From my experience I had 3 tests and passed on my third I would recommend only talk to them if they talk to you and give them simple but polite answers if they ask you to do something just say ok and do it.
Keep calm its not as bad as you think its going to be and go for it.

remember what you have been taught, also use of mirrors and m,s,m. try not to be too nervous , and be compitent,the examiner will be watching how you react and overcome situations,

Go for a walk before you start to help work out some of those stress tensions. Just drive as you've been taught and you'll be fine. Contrary to popular opinion the examiners have no pass/fail quotas. He/she's not out to get you, if you're good enough you will pass, it's as simple as that. Don't forget, if you mishear or don't understand what you've been asked to do you can always ask, they really don't mind.

The short skirt etc won't help a lot if you get a lady examiner - probably anyway! And having to stop quickly in an emergency won't fail you either - in fact it'll probably save you having to do that exercise. Did with me, years ago, the top of a street lamp fell in the road right in front and I had to stop very quickly. The examiner cleared his throat and said "Well, I won't have to ask you to an emergency stop now!"

just dont worry i lose all confidence on the day i have failed 2 tests because of my confidence i have been told by different driveing instructers im a good driver i just get sooo nervous on the day so just ignore the examiner sitting there just listen to the instructions and do the best you can

I have been told in the past that the dsa examiners have to fail a certain percentage of drivers. your driving is a major factor, relax, make sure they can see you looking in your mirrors etc you have to be moving your head they cant see your eyes so position the interior mirror slightly of so that you are moving you head, but not as much that you cant see behind you. excuse the pun. and be courteous like hello good morning etc. remember relax and good luck.

Drive exactly how you are taught and keep going, even if you think you have failed.
On my test It pissed it down, and I mean monsoon style rain. It hit the wrong button on the key fob to open the car. It opened the boot and I drove around with the boot banging on the catch.
A woman jumped into the road and it was a very sharp emergency stop.
I also got stuck behind two lorries trying to deliver goods to some house.
But I passed first time because I kept going and didnt allow anything to affect my perfomance.

The test is exactly that. The examiner on your test will not know how long you have been having lessons, or how good or bad a pupil you were. He/she will not be concerned whose car you drive on the test(providing it is suitable of course). It doesn't matter if its a driving school car or your own. All the examiner is interested in is that you can drive safely during the test and that you can carry out the set exercises correctly. Providing you can do this then you will pass. Naturally if you prove to the examiner that you can't do these things then it is obvious that you will fail. The test is a simple as that, so don't let your friends or anyone else put ideas into your mind. Your driving instructor is the one to listen to-- he is the one you are paying to teach you. Miss....first of all don't be nervous driving test are very easy the hardest part is already over and that's the written test!,know the road signs, make complete stops at stop signs,allways use signals when turning ..be sure to look in your mirrors.....all of them periodicly and if you have to back go ahead and turn your head around to look where your going. good luck miss! Trust me short skirt , tight blouse and no bra will get you no where....my husband gives these test all the time... and if someone pulls out and you have to break hard ...it's not a fail...

just concentrate on wot your doin but if sum one pulls out and you have to break hard then its a fail even doe its not your fault so yeah it wot happens on the day
