Okay, so today there was an accident and it was on a university campus. This is what happened.. I pulled up to a stop sign and looked to the left and thought that no one was coming so I went ahead and made my turn to the right. However, there was a honda civic that I pulled out in front of but they were going so fast that they didn't even try to stop they just tried to go around me but fishtailed in the process causing them to over correct the fish tail and hit a curb ( a very little curb ) and that busted the guys tire. Remember, this all took place on a university campus not on an actual road. The speed limit was 20 and the guy that I pulled out in front of had to be going at least 40. Am I legally responsible for this?

It can depend on the laws of your state, but if you did not collide with him - then the fault is all his. The reason would be that he did not have his car under control at all times. You may still have to put a claim in, if his insurance tries to contact you - so that your company can fight for you. That's what they are there for. Call your agent and ask. |

If there was no damage to your vehicle, it would be difficult for them to prove you were the one who caused them to lose control. Unless there were witnesses.
If there were witnesses, then you made an illegal left turn. Even if they were driving recklessly. |

that all depends...the campus may have other laws regarding such incidents.check with them and the police. |

No you are not responsible for this.
The law states that you must be in total control of your vehicle at all times. Since he lost control he definatly was not.
You have no damage to your car.. Don't worry about it, it's his problem not yours.
