I know someone who is selling a moped (NRG 2001) For 350 pounds knowing what hes like from storys ect ect It COULD be stolen but im not sure he said he got it of a mates dad few months ago and wants to sell it i said if its not legal and i cant ride it for that reason im saying i got if from you, he was like yeah thats fine it is all legit so i kind of trust him for saying that anyway the problem is when he bourght it he didnt get a log book then man didnt have it so he bourght it anyway and now when i buy it theres no log book and he cant get hold of the man he got it off so what can i do to check its legal and to get it registerd to me if i do buy it?!?! please help!!!

No log book then no deal - if it is his he would be able to get one with a form V62 from post office but would take about 6 weeks to get to him after he sent the form in.
No V5C - do not buy it - there are plenty more bikes around without taking the risk. |

As Timbo says, there are lots of other mopeds out there. Don't touch this one with a barge-pole.
If he's that keen to unload it onto you tell him to get a replacement logbook and show it to you, along with the MoT; I'd guess that will be the last you hear about it. |

there is a number which you can text the number plate to, they will text back with all the details and if its stolen or not, think its about £3 a text but im not sure of the number, maybe search on google or yell.com |

you can apply for a log book from the dvla you can download the fprm off the website or get one from the post office i suggest you get the current owner to do this before you part with your hard earned .or do it yourself and then purchase the bike once it arrives all you need is the registration no and chassis no |

have a hpi check done on it, they will tell you what you need to know |

contact the dvla with reg or frame number they will be able to put you straight and if need be re register it it will cost about £55 if it needs to be re registered |
