Their insurance company will handle the damages. Then, they will send a bill to "your friend" for the total amount of damages to the car, for the rental bill, as well as any injuries they have paid out for.
Also- your "friend" can look forward to being sued by the other party for his injuries personally.
And insurance companies dont play around. if your friend doesnt pay the bill they send.. they will suspend his license, get his wages garnished, property taken etc.
Then again, i hope they do. People driving without isnurance dont care about anybody. They are selfish and yoru friend is lucky no one died from this accident. |

Could be jail, least would be loss of license. Settle and get rid of it. Then get insurance. |

Driving without insurance is a criminal offence, so they should (rightfully) be prosecuted. |

at best it will cost a lot in fines - more probably a ban from driving as well. |

If they were driving, they were committing an offence and will likely be reported to the police by the other drivers' insurance company. |

Good on the other driver, there is too many people driving without insurance nowadays, i hope you're friend gets the book chucked at them, wether it was thier fault or not.
you're friend will have a hefty bill to pay, and possible prosecution for driving with no insurance (have they actually got a licence?) sorry no sympathy they deserve all they get!!!!! |

People such as your "friend", driving without insurance make insurance more expensive for responsible people who do the right thing and carry insurance on their vehicles. I hope he loses his license and goes to jail.
I live in an area where at least 1 out of 3 drivers has no insurance, and the majority of those have no license, either. I'm tired of this crap! |

Doesn't matter if the other admitted it at the time, they want to go through the insurance up to them. |

It is possible that your friend will be put in jail if the other party sue him. It is clear that in UK driving without an insurance is punishable by law. Tell your friend after all this thing will be settle, he must start to look for a car insurance company to insure his car to avoid much bigger problem. He can try to search on the net some insurance companies that offering cheap car insurance premium if he cant afford the expensive one. He can try to visit this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com for his reference. He can collect some quotations from here and select the best car insurance company that could provide him a better quality of car insurance services. |

No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web.
Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around?
the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great.
this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins.
The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman.
Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy.
So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net.
Good starting point is at this site.

tut tut, well for one it is illegal to drive without insurance (about 6 penalty points) and highly irresponsible,
however if it wasnt your friends fault then there is no need to go through insurance if you dont wish to, if it was then there a good chance that police wll be involved and a personal claim(sued) but f it wasnt then the other driver should be claiming off his/her own insurance for repair of car
but there is a good chance of fines and loss of licence,
note again driving without insurance is not just a dodge its for your benefit aswell as others and anyone driving without insurance s plainly stupid, iresponsible and above all an ars e hole in my book, people like your friend is the reason honest drivers insurance is high!!!!!
anyway good luck
hope i help |

I hope he does get fined for no insurance.People like that make me sick.We work hard to buy our cars and to pay to tax and insure them , an uninsured driver comes along and smashes into me...who will pay??Oh, they haven't got any money to pay so tough I will have to pay for his criminal act.
Fines they get are pitiful. Insurance costs say £300, if they get caught without they get fined £200, it's worth the risk.
Put them in prison and make them pay..send the bailiffs in to sell their property if necessary. If you aren't insured...don't drive. |

The other driver may sue your friend personally. |

Driving with no insurance = anti social and irresponsible.
The person without insurance is going to end up in court, as to what the court does, well that is up to the court. |

If you read the Highway code you will see that the onus is on the person opening the door to make sure that the road is clear.
whether or not insurance is in force does not affect liability and a driver always has the option of dealing with claims themselves (they should report the incident to their insurance company as a policy condition but this does not apply in your case).
So it is up to your partner to try and negotiate the best deal possible with the other person's insurance company - let's hope the lesson is not too expensive.
PS - If he arranges insurance in the future he will have to disclose this incident even though no claim is being made. |
