Legally, if it isn't taxed and insured, it will have to be trailered. |

Sorry, but it is not allowed on the road without tax and insurance. You are going to have to hire a trailer. |

we had a similar problem and it needed so much work on it, in the end we just called the scrap metal man and he came and took it away for free. always an option if you dont want the car or cant afford to have it repaired
annoying thing is he did it up and we saw it outside our local newsagents a few weeks later! |

phone a scrap yard they will come and collect it. |

If it's being scrapped some dealers will collect it for free or even buy it from you. That way it's not your problem.
I would think that even though it doesn't run if it is being towed it is a potential hazard to other road users.
Might be better to check with DVLA |

Go to the DMV and tell them you want a moving permit to take the vehicle to be repaired. Then you can use a towbar. Do NOT tell them it is a parts car. Moving permits are cheap and they are uaually good for three to five days. This will only work if you are not taking the vehicle out of state. Otherwise you will have to put it on a trailer. |

I think you're in the UK. If that's the case, if the car's wheels are on the road, whether on a rope, towbar or piece of knicker elastic, it has to be fully legal. You need either a trailer or a recovery flatbed. |

towing on a solid bar is legal and its covered by towing vehicles documents. take a reciept to show the police that you have just brought it, do not tow it on a motorway as then it becomes illegal/ |

YOU CAN ONLY TOW IT LEGALLY WITH A ONE MAN TOW. IF SOME ONE IS STEERING IT THERE STILL IN CON TROLL OF THE CAR AND NEED TO HAVE INSURANCE |

The only legal requirement is that it should be roadworthy, if it's being towed, it neither has to be taxed, MoT'd or insured. The towing vehicle however, has to have appropriate insurance.
Reading the other answers, it's frightening how little people know about road traffic law. 'Spike' is the only one with any knowledge! |

You can tow the vehicle so long as the vehicle towing it is up to date and the other driver is covered on your insurance..

Providing that the car is not actually be driven, then it is ok for it to be towed to a destination. |
