No. The insurance company is paying you for the vehicle and they now "own it". Many will allow you to buy the car back though. |

The insurance contract almost certainly has a clause against doing something like this. There'll be something in the contract about them retaining the right to salvage the vehicle. If you really love your tires you may be able to work a deal with them to turn around and pay for the tires back from them, essentially deducting from the claim amount (since this would be a fast salvage, I imagine they'd love to do this). |

If the vehicle is damaged enough to be towed, it will stay in the storage yard until the insurance company decides how they will handle the claim and you will not be able to remove parts from it. If they decide to total the vehicle, it belongs to them. You insurance company must honor your request to buy back the entire salvage vehicle if that is your desire. You can ask to have them sell you the tires but they probably will not do it. |

Most insurance companies will not let you take items off of a vehicle that has been declared a loss. If they do, they will deduct the value from the amount you receive. |
