yes he can sit in the car as your passenger, though from experience family teaching familyis not always a good idea..... and of course you need insurance to drive anything on the road!! It might pay you to stick to an instructor as new driver insurance policys are not cheap!!

As long as he is 21 and has held a full licence for 3 years he can "supervise" you. You will need to be added to his insurance as a provisional licence holder, and that will probably work out horribly expensive for him.

I, too, would recommend you take professional lessons. The instructor's car will be up to date, fully insured for the purpose, in good nick and fitted with dual controls in case it all goes pear-shaped. Furthermore, the instructor will be good at that job, unlike your bruv who may well be an excellent driver but not trained in how to teach. And possibly brother has picked up some bad habits since passing his test.

I cant see any problem with this. BUT as an ex driving instructor I would recommend that you have lessons with a qualified instructor just to correct any bad habits your brother may have picked up since passing his test.
You must have insurance to drive the car. This coul be expensive depending on what car your brother has.By law you are required to have insurance.
Good luck for when you take your driving test

Yes - anyone who's held a licence for 3+ years can teach you.

You will need to get insured on the car aswel which i suspect will be costly.

good idea in theory very very bad idea in practise.

for a start should you make an error the passenger can do nothing to stop you (no duel controls)
it will cause arguments,
if you damage the car your brother will really hate you

just get lessons from an instructor, oh and yes the insurance for you to drive will be v expensive, no insurance is a very bad thing

I know all the rules of the US .. but not of the UK..
i think u'll need an insurance

Scouse
To damn right you need insurance if you are driving his car it should be on his policy and if your car your own

Megpie
You do not need to be put on his insurance, as long as he gives you permission to drive it then the car is covered under his policy. Insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver so you will be ok on that end.
P.S. I am an adjuster in auto claims :)

welcome news

Assuming your brother qualifies and does not take payment then you can learn. You would need to be added onto his insurance policy as a named driver - and that will be expensive.

It will be cheaper and better for you to go to an Approved Driving Instructor - you will pay for the lessons but get better tuition and of course you won't have to pay the extra insurance/

he has to be over 21 and you will have to be insureded to drive his car witch will cost thousands.

and if you sit your test in his car it has to be insureded and you have to be insureded to drive it and it must have passed its M.O.T

mate its cheaper and easier to pay a driven instructor

1.he will teach you right and your more likely to pass first time with him teaching you.
2.it will cost less money and will be saver cause in his car he has pedals so he can take control of the car.
