Leasing a car. Can you return the car and get your money back with in a certian time period?

No. You cannot return the car.
No. You cannot get your money back.

Unless you quit paying on the lease or file bankruptcy, you're stuck.

A lease agreement is to protect the car dealer, not you. They have you over a barrel. There's a lot more costs associated with leasing the car than paying the advertised payments. Higher liability insurance coverage is sometimes required, sales tax each month on the lease payment, mandatory maintenance expenses that otherwise would be optional to an owner, plus other costs normally associated with car ownership.

What happens when you lease a vehicle, the dealer sells the car to a leasing company (usually a hidden company within the dealership). The leasing company (not the dealership) now owns the car. You pay your payments to the leasing company. The dealership is completely out of the picture.

Leasing is the most expensive way of owning a car. You may be able to get out of it and take some penalty hits. Best thing to do is talk to the dealer.

No. You signed a contract. But it's totally up the leasing company. Call and ask them.

If you can't make the payments take the car back.
