Okay, I'm about ot turn 16 and get my license. Am I allowed to drive if I'm under my dad's policy, or do I have to have my own?
Additional Details
I'm not asking what the cheapest auto insurance is... I'm wondering about the insurance law... do I have to have my OWN policy or can I be under my dad's at 16 years old?

For auto insurance the most efficient way to get a low rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you compare similar policies with the same deductibles, car make, location, etc so that all things are a good comparison.

You'll be covered under dad's policy, but you should be added as a listed driver to be sure. If there's just one car, you'll be part-time; if there are two or more, you'll probably be listed as full-time on one.
The premiums WILL go up, no way around it. Just drive safely and smart to keep them from going up more. |
