Low Repair Estimate How to Go After Insurance Company?

I hit a car at its back and caused cracks on its rear bumper. It is my fault and my insurance company supposed to pay for the repair since I have liability insurance with them. But the estimate from my insurance company for the other car came out much lower than the estimates the other party got from other body shops. And now the other party comes after me and they said they gonna sue me. I would like to know how can I push my insurance company to come up more. Thanks!

Don't worry. The insurance company pays what is fair but will not be overcharged by other shops.
So, if you get served you give that info to your insurance company. They will either represent you or give you what you need to go to small claims court. Your insurance company will help you.
Tell the other guy to go ahead and sue you and leave you alone. Your insurance company will take care of any suit and help you. You will win. |

You must wait and let him sue you. If he wins your insurance company will either pay the damages or you will have to sue your insurance company. There is nothing you can do before then because you haven't lost anything yet as a consequence of their settlement offer. You're not alone. You would be amazed at how many people have to sue their own insurance companies. I don't know if it applies to you but I wonder how many people who always ask on this site "what's the cheapest insurance?" find out that the cheapest insurance isn't always the cheapest insurance. |
