Mandatory liability insurance violation?

Are there any loopholes in this law? I think its kind of ridonkulous that it is mandatory to carry this high priced insurance. Insurance companies get rich, and the poor get poorer. I hate paying insurance every month. Are there any ways around this law? Are there any loopholes to get out of a particular ticket if a person gets a "no insurance" ticket.

I have a hunch as to what insurance is. It may in fact be a scam that rips off the masses, and keeps the poor dependent on the system. I feel the government needs to step up and create a nationalized insurance program similar to health insurance. This is a possible way to eliminate fortune 500 companies who are in the business of collecting 10 percent of our income throughout our lives. These companies offer no help to us when we are in need. If Uncle Sam had his own brand of affordable insurance with the protection offered by the USA, then I'd take it. As for now, I feel like my check every month goes to the SUITS at the top. All of you who have answered should take a look at your happy lives and realize theres more out there than what your isolation prevents you from seeing. There is a world of corruption that causes poverty, a world that needs to be changed.

there are ways to get out of carrying insurance though. in most states you have to be able to prove you can produce 50 grand cash. that will cover about what mandatory minimum insurance is.

as for the law, it's there for your protection as well as that of everyone around you. what's ridiculous is some people driving around expecting that if they get in an accident and permanently disable someone it's the responsibility of the person disabled, not them, or of the gov't and not them to take care of that person.

You really have no idea what insurance is for, do you? Tell you what, when some bozo with no insurance and no money runs into YOU, wrecks your car, and leaves you penniless, on welfare, in a wheel chair for the rest of your life, I guarantee you will know why people have to carry liability insurance.

If you get a ticket for not carrying insurance, thank your lucky stars the ticket comes before you kill someone, not after.

Ignore Olivia C, she gives advice that contravenes the law. Backdating a policy is grounds for disciplinary action by the licencing authorities, that can range from a licence suspension to a permanent revocation if it is deemed the agent/broker is unfit to hold a licence. In my years as a broker (I am retired) I was asked to issue back-dated insurance, but would never risk my ability to make a living over somebody else's stupidity. The only time a policy can be back-dated is to correct a proven broker or company error on an existing policy or application.
And yes, I have seen people get suspended or have their licences revoked for life for that and other violations.

It's really ridiculous when you hit a family of four and kill and seriously injure someone and they get nothing while you go on your merry own way.

THIS is why we have insurance. Insurance is made to make someone hole who has been wronged. As far as pricing of insurance what drives this is risk and cost. All these people who are on here saying how much can i get, affects ALL of our insurance rates. If the cost of settling a claim goes from $5000 to $10000 then that cost is past on to the consumer.

SO the next time you get into an accident and want to know what you'll get, keep this in mind.

BY the way, insurance companies are not getting rich. Many are struggling just to get by due to the high cost of everything and states not allowing for rate increases. For instance an insurance company selling homeowners insurance in Florida cannot possibly make any money as the state insurance regulators won't let them charge the appropriate rate to insure property there. So what do they do, they charge higher rates in other states to supplement this. THAT is TRULY unfair

As far as getting out of the ticket, no such luck and it's very expensive. Buck up and pay the premium or take the bus!!! You DO NOT want to get caught without it or worse in an accident like above and ruin your life. And don't think it won't happen to you as this website is filled with people who this has happened too.
