i buy a car from a private buyer Lincoln town car
on title he did not write sales price
he says ok write down what ever u like
i write down as gift
but after 2 months
state office sent me a letter this car have value $15000.00 so you owe $1015.00 tax
please help me what i can do ?
is i need a bill of sale receipt
again ,,,
even still i have not use car
it have high insurance
i want to use this as a business for limo ,

Doesn't matter. Sales tax is paid according to the book value of actual price paid, whichever is higher Pay the sales tax.
