What do i do? Ive seen i can fill out a V10 along with a MOT and insurance and get a new tax disc. Although my cars tax actually ran out in JUNE - i know, i know...didnt even realsie until yesterday which is a complete lack of attention. So what do i sy when going to post office to fill out a V10? will they know, it does ask when did ur tax disc run out? i dont want to write june and get a lecture of the staff...

Go to a post office and tax your car, send off the documents that need change of adress notification and make a declaration of where the car has been in the intervening period.
Don't worry about the doom and gloom people saying your car can be crushed if it is on private land (not council property though), if it has a valid tax disc it can't be touched. |

If your tax ran out in June, then the DVLA will have issued you a fine, sent to your previous address. You will need to contact the DVLA and give them your new address details along with a reference from the cars log book to prove you are the owner. You will then have to pay up the fine, £80 I believe, and re-tax your car, obviously with 3 months deducted. |

you should have changed you regestration form of to get your change of address, then your renewall would have come to you. also if you are stopped by the police and your details are wrong (eg--no tax/ wrong address) then your car can bee crushed after aweek at your local compound (charges various but around £80+£10 per day) |

take your reg docs with you to the post office. fill out the back to change the address when you are there and they will tax it and send it off to the dvla for you |

I suggest you get your registration certificate and your driving licence (as I'm guessing you haven't done this also) and change your address and send them off to the DVLA. |

think you can backdate the start of your tax till then but will have to endure the staffs moaning this justifies their existence |

Just tax it at the post office with the V10, which will also notify the DVLA of a change of address. It's only been two months since your tax lapsed, due to a technicality you may get away with it.
If you're due a fine, it'll arrive by post, the post office staff will have no knowledge of a gap in the licencing. |
