The car was already in really poor condition and I was no longer driving it. The value on kelly blue book is less then $750. I owe A LOT more than that on it unfortunately. Would the repairs likely cost more then the car is worth? Also I have full coverage through Allstate and gap insurance through my credit union, if they total the car will I still owe? Are they more likely to repair the car because I still owe so much on my loan?

They will more likely than not, total it. Since you have GAP insurance, you shouldn't owe anything on it. The amount of the loan has nothing to do with the decision to total it or not. |
