My CA driver's license was suspended for over speeding. I feel really bad about it and don't plan to drive like this again. I am planning to visit Texas for a week and was hoping to get rental car. Will I be able to legally drive there?
Additional Details
I still need to go to court, where they will formally suspend it. So I did not know that they actually take away the licence. Looks it will be suspended for 30 days.

The answer unfortunately is no. Having a suspended license in your home State only makes you unlicensed in another. Having a driver's license from 1 State permits you to drive with it in any other, but if that license is suspended, then every other State will treat you as if you don't have a license. |

No. Your right to drive is granted to you only by your home state, and you are a guest permitted to drive in other states only if you have a valid license in your home state. The rental car company will NOT rent to you without a valid CA license. |

You not only can't drive there, you won't be able to rent a car there either. A suspended license in your home state means you have no license anywhere.

nope. u are illegal to drive in all 50 states until the suspension is lifted by ca. u need to show ur license before they'll allow u to rent a car. no license, no rental, no exceptions. maybe u'll think twice about speeding when u finally get ur license back. |
