My car a Toyota Corolla 2008 got stolen, i have full coverage. i have reported it to the police, my insurance and the bank.
When the 30 days where up i was waiting for the weekend to be over to call the insurance company to know what is going on.
Over the weekend, day 34 the police contact me that they find the car.
unfortunately one of the police officer got hurt by chasing them.
They got the bad guys and the police officer is fighting for his life.
The police say the car is in a good conditions from looking at it, a window is broken something with the steering wheel and maybe the locks and a bump.
Thanks to the police and i hope with all my hart that the policeman will be ok soon.
I contact the insurance company and they told me that the day i have call to say they got it that is the day i got approved for my write off (i think that is the way to say it) but because of the new information they put all on hold till the police will release the car and they can exam the car.
so what can i do now? i'm still with out a car and more time is going by..
And even if the car is in ok conditions i don't want it no more, a good man got hurt badly because of it, it is all just bad karma.
What is going to happened now? what can i do to make things faster from the insurance side.
i totally understand and wiling if the police need something from me or the car, but what can i do meanwhile?

You need to make sure your insurance company knows that you are still without transportation and request a rental until the police release your car and repairs are done on your car. Unfortunately, some insurance companies only cover rentals for so long and you'll be out of luck.
As far as not wanting the car, you shouldn't feel that it is bad Karma. The police officer did his job and most likely he'll do it again. He got hurt to get the person driving your car not because of it. Don't let him be hurt for no reason. Drive it like you stole it, and be proud of it. |

Call your insurance company and insist that since they totaled it, they need to pay you for it as they are supposed to do. Tell them to quit dragging their feet. If they totaled it just before it was found then finding it should make no difference. The car is now their responsibility. If they give you a problem,tell them you are immediately going notify your State's Insurance commissioner's office and file a complaint and then do it ! |
