I have lost my no claims bonus and had to pay out the excess. Is there any agency similar to the one you can claim through for being attacked in the street, (criminal injuries)?

If you suffer injury, loss or damage to property as a result of a road traffic incident involving a motor vehicle and the driver is not insured, compensation for personal injury and damage to property may be available from the Motor Insurers' Bureau. To claim you need to contact the Motor Insurers' Bureau, 152 Silbury Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 1NG. Telephone 01908 830001.

'Fraid not. If the insurers have paid out, they might wish to join in any prosecution of the offender to claim from them, but I doubt it. Unfortunately, the "no claims" discount is just that, no claim, not no blame. |

You can try, but odds are you'll either spend more than what you'll ever get back from the perpetrators, or else you'll win a judgement against them, but never be able to collect on it. Unless you're out thousands of dollars, just give it up and move on with your life. |

If the car was parked in a paid for car park with some form of monitoring you MIGHT have a claim against the operators of the car park. They usually try to exclude liability, but if you could show that they were aware of what was going on (cctv records?) and chose to do nothing you might get something. Otherwise that's what we have comp insurance for isn't it |
